Amen Breaks

Update: Here is a Amen Andrews Megamix

Received a couple of Amen Andrews 12-inches last week. Can’t stop playing them.

The BPM’s are also listed on the records. Mostly around 175 BPM (+/- 6) but also (rarely) some slower and faster things. Highly Recommended for the Breakbeat and Jungle fans out there.

It sounds like we are back in the beginning of the 1990’s with hardcore breakbeats, jungle etc. Samples like: “Mash Up This Place”, “Watch Your Bass-Bins” and many rave sounds such as hovers and Altern 8-like stabs.

On the Rephlex website you can here a couple of samples (like this one) and I might post a Amen Andrews megamix soon, so you can check out more :-)
Ordering from Warpmart is quite convenient. They carry a lot of good stuff in one place. Even things that are not so much Warp related like UR records.

Fun

When I tried to clean up my disk lately I discovered some funny old files. For example I found the results of a poll made after Pims gig at Awakenings. Apparently he was the most popular of all dj’s. Share the fun…

Dikke MZR beuktrack on Ruff Rhythmz Radio

Today (11th) will be a live broadcast at the famous dutch drum ‘n bass internetradioshow Ruff Rhythmz from DJ “and Kraftwerk lover” Static of (unsigned) dutch dnbtracks. One of Emzetter’s ‘meer doorbeukende’ trax ‘Jah Sumono’ (volgens mij zit er wel een amen in) will be played in this show which will be live broadcasted from 20.00-22.00 (CET) at Airpeace FM and later downloadebale at the Ruff Rhythmz
So check die ishes uit…

And totally in tradition of the Aciddome a contest…:
What is Emzetter saying in the intro to his friend Jah Sumono, the body-eating and greenbeans-smoking rastafari?
A cd with some of his more ‘beukende’ tracks will be sent to the first and good answer submitting aciddomers

B-sides, on the Ruffrhythmzsite are a lot more drumnbass mixes from different dj’s like Mike Engine, Dylan, Dreazz, Pressure and Static himself, streaming and mp3 (128kb) downloadeable for all you dnb-addicts…

enjoy!!!!

RadioShow Epitonic

You can create your own radio station easily with
Epitonic Radio.

The quality is 128 kbs. There used to be some services like this that went bankrupt, so enjoy it while it lasts.

Sähkö + Acid Mixes

Here the love of Acid is very apparent:
Sähkö Recordings - Mixes

A couple of hours of listening pleasure with quite good quality. Some tracks from the Oldschool Acid Mix by ODJ Harri & TG:

  • Jackstreet Inc: Makin’ House Music (4th & B’way)
  • Laurent X: Machines (House Nation)
  • Phuture: Inside Out (Strictly Rhythm)
  • House of Venus: Dish and Tell (Go Bang)

Old School Acid

Check out the mix from DJ Aardvarck on 3voor12 and try to not get annoyed by that person shouting in between… We know that this is acid :-) Also the use of filters by Aardvarck is a bit of a waste of the music. Anyways, I sympathise with the initiative, but this doesn’t sound like I want to go there.

Old style Chicago and London Acid, with a remix of “Can you feel the bass” that I never heard before.

You need RealPlayer to be able to Tune In

Old Versions

Sometimes older versions are better. In general, everything used to be better in the old days… Music, The Wheather (remember snow in Decemeber in Holland?),a dn even software.

Therefore, Old Versions are kept in a nice archive here.

Cool.
